Why it is worth studying at SE
“I didn’t know the methods I could use as a teacher, I didn’t know how to talk with a class and at the same time maintain discipline. I also lacked educational competence. Now I am learning all these at the School of Education,” says Marlena Jaśkiewicz, who graduated from Bioengineering Faculty at Warsaw University of Technology, and now is studying math path at SE.
Unique courses for teachers
The PAFF and UW School of Education runs free post-graduate courses for those who want to become Polish or math teachers. They are one-year full-time courses. The students learn new methods teaching and check them in practice, develop their educational competence, learn how to match educational methods to the needs of each individual student in a class. A year of studying at School of Education is also a good offer for teachers who are looking for new solutions that will suit them and want to collaborate with best Polish educators. The students of SE can apply for a scholarship (up to PLN 2,000 a month) and accommodation at the University of Warsaw dormitory.
Why courses at SE are different from other post-graduate courses:
- Innovative teaching methods,
- All-year practice at schools (over 340 hours),
- Emphasizing the role of a teacher as an educator,
- Individual approach (tutoring, mentoring),
- Cooperation with Teachers College Columbia University,
- The courses are free,
- It is possible to obtain a scholarship (up to PLN 2,000 a month),
- Accommodation at the University of Warsaw dormitory,
- Support from the graduates.
“I met incredible people there – passionate, engaged, open. I am learning how to teach careful reading, critical interpretation of a text, and creative writing. I also can verify my ideas in practice,” says Samanta Dryja-Zabielska, a student of Polish path at SE.
