Bridge Scholarships is a nation-wide extensive scholarship program addressed to students of the 1st and following years of university courses. Eligible to apply are this year’s secondary school graduates from villages and small towns, who did well at school, come from low-income families, and are to begin a full-time course at a public university. Young people applying for a scholarship must meet at least one of the following four conditions: come from a family of a former state-owned farm worker; be a finalist of a subject Olympiad at the secondary school level; come from a large family or a foster family or a state children’s home; be recommended by a local NGO.
A bridge scholarship for the 1st year course is PLN 5,000 paid in 10 monthly installments of PLN 500 each. Those scholarship holders who have completed their first year and done well in their courses may apply for scholarships for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of their studies, as well as for foreign language scholarships, scholarships for studying abroad, Ph.D. courses, and internships.
In the 2020/21 academic year about 1,000 students will receive scholarships and an opportunity to take part in workshops and internships, including ca. 600 students who will be awarded scholarships for the 1st year of studying.
