In January 2018, five new organizations joined the Act Locally Centers network as Affiliated Act Locally Centers. Thus, the ALC network comprises now 71 organizations (including 9 Affiliated ALCs) covering a total of almost 620 communes.
The new ALC network members include the following:
- Together We Can Do More Foundation at the Children’s Home in Kłodzko, Dolnośląskie Province;
- Łowicz Region Local Action Group Association, Łowicz, Łódzkie Province;
- Noteć Forest Association, Międzychód, Wielkopolskie Province;
- Association of the Northern Crown Krakow, Raciborowice, Małopolskie Province;
- Warta River Union Association, (Słupca, Wielkopolskie Province);
In the coming months the new member organizations will take initial training, and in spring they will carry out their first local grant competitions.
Affiliated Act Locally Centers are NGOs with their seats in villages and towns of up to 50,000 residents, willing to support initiatives selected in local grant competition under the rules of the “Act Locally” Program with their own funds or those raised by themselves. They are full members of the ALC network and can use all its resources.
Affiliated ALCs receive the so-called seed grants of PLN 5,000 or PLN 10,000 for organization of a local grant competition, among other things.
“We care about regular increase in the number of the ALC network members. This way we can reach more and more local communities. Thanks to those five new member organizations we cover another 33 communes. We will make every effort to help our new partners reach the program objectives,” the “Act Locally” Program Coordinator Paweł Zań says.
Enrollment for Affiliated Act Locally Centers takes place all year round. The nearest date of announcing new Affiliated ALCs is at the end of 2018. Your applications are welcome. More information can be found at www.dzialajlokalnie.pl.
The objective of the “Act Locally” Program is to assist and encourage local communities in villages and small towns by lending support to civil initiatives that foster developmental aspirations, improve the quality of life, and contribute to building social capital.
