In 2024/2025 academic year as many as 575 students received their bridge scholarships for their studies, including 367 for the 1st year. Ceremony of 23rd round of Bridge Scholarships Program inauguration took place at the Central House of Technology in Warsaw on November 29.
The main theme of the meeting organized by Educational Enterprise Foundation were the scholarship holders’ dreams, passions and goals.
Scholarship holders Angelika M. Talaga and Ewelina Piech-Możejko spoke about the need to have an open mind, not to give up, look for new, not always obvious ways of personal development, and making your dreams come true.
Dr. Zofia Sapijaszka, the President of the Educational Enterprise Foundation, congratulated the scholarship holders and presented the three components of the program’s offer: scholarships, personal development, and community activeness.
The opening lecture was given by Angelika M. Talaga, an expert in alternative education, children’s intellectual development and educational futurology. As a specialist in learning, she told about her studies at university, and looking for a passion, as well as about setting and achieving goals.
Bridge scholarships were presented by member of Inter Cars Foundation Board Katarzyna Oleksowicz and Polish-American Freedom Foundation Program Director Radosław Jasiński.
The event was graced by the concert given by Małgorzata Bardak, a bridge scholarship holder of 2021 who graduated from Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in violin class and Maciej Ochwat, who graduated from Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in accordion class.
During the event you could see the exhibition of works by bridge scholarship holders studying at the Fine Arts Academy: Julita Walczak – a student at the 2nd year of painting, Emilia Byłeń – a student of the 2nd year of graphics, and Natalia Witczak – a student of 2nd year of art and design of ceramics.
The host of the meeting was Joanna Jonczyk.
The Bridge Scholarships Program is one of the biggest non-governmental scholarship programs in Poland. So far 28,000 various scholarships have been awarded under that program, including almost 19,000 for the first year of studies.
The objective of the Bridge Scholarships Program is to encourage talented young people in villages and small towns coming from low-income families to study at a university through offering them an opportunity to obtain a scholarship for the first year of studies and supporting the best scholarship holders over following years of their university education.
The Founder and Strategic Partner of the program is Polish-American Freedom Foundation.
The program Partners are: Inter Cars Foundation, Klemm Family Foundation and a coalition of local NGOs. For implementation of 22 rounds of the program the Partners disbursed almost PLN 149 million.
The Program Manager is Educational Enterprise Foundation.
The program is implemented in cooperation with Professor Bronisław Geremek Center, Shipyard Center for Social Innovation and Research, Good Network Foundation, and Foundation for Promotion and Accreditation of Economic Education.
