450 scholarships for the 1st year of studies are awaiting apt, ambitious students who come from villages and small towns, from low-income families, are leaving secondary school and starting their full-time university courses in 2022. The scholarship amounts to PLN 7,000 a year.
“Bridge Scholarships” is the nation-wide extensive scholarship program addressed to students of the 1st and next years of university courses. Eligible to apply are this-year’s secondary school leavers from villages and small towns, who did well at school, come from low-income families, and are starting a full-time course at a public university. Young people applying for a scholarship shall meet at least one of the following four conditions: come from a family of a former state-owned farm worker; be a finalist of a subject Olympiad at the secondary school level; come from a big family or a foster family or a state children’s home; or be recommended by a local NGO.
A bridge scholarship for the 1st year course is PLN 7,000 paid in 10 monthly installments over an academic year. Those scholarship holders who have done well at their course may apply for scholarships for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of their studying, as well as for foreign language scholarships, scholarships for studying abroad, and PhD courses. The program participants will also be able to take part in workshops, training sessions and conferences developing their skills that will facilitate their entering the job market and building professional career.
In 2022/23 academic year 770 students will get scholarships and an opportunity to take part in workshops and internships, including 450 students who will get scholarships for the 1st year of studying.
The enrollment to the program will be held online on: www.stypendia-pomostowe.pl. The application form will be active from July 4 to September 16, 2022, 16:00 hrs.
The Bridge Scholarships Program is one of the biggest non-governmental scholarship initiatives in Poland. To date, under this program a total of 26,000 various scholarships have been awarded, including 18,000 for the first year of university course. The Strategic Partners in the program are Polish-American Freedom Foundation and the National Bank of Poland. The Main Partners are: Rural Development Foundation, and BNP Paribas Foundation; and the Partner is a coalition of local NGOs. For 20 rounds of the program the Partners have disbursed over PLN 130 million.
The Program is implemented in cooperation with the National Center of Support for Agriculture.
