Procedure
The first stage of the “Green Leader” program introduces the topics of climate change, environmental protection, and sustainable development in the form of e-learning. The participants will develop a preliminary diagnosis of the problem they face in their community or municipality, related to one of three thematic paths: drought and flood prevention in urban areas, drought and flood prevention in agricultural areas, or energy efficiency. The e-learning course can be completed at any time between mid-February and mid-March 2026.
The fifteen most committed teams will be invited to participate in the rest of the program. Over the next seven months, through workshops, expert advice, and study visits, each team will develop an action plan in response to the problem identified during the e-learning stage. This part of the program will run from April 2026 to November 2026.
About the program
“Green Leader” is a program of Polish-American Freedom Foundation, managed by the Sendzimir Foundation. It supports local leaders in their efforts to protect the environment and mitigate and adapt to climate change, as well as in effectively raising funds to implement these activities. The program consists of e-learning, in-person workshops, expert consulting, experience sharing, and the opportunity to go on study visits in Poland and abroad. The result of participation in the program is an action plan developed by each team that can be implemented in the local community.
