Applications for the second round of the Library Development Program Academy for Alumni can be submitted until February 16. This is the first development program designed specifically for public library staff, based on potential assessment (Gallup® Test) and offering opportunities for personal development and the development of specialist skills.
Eligible to apply to participate in the Academy are graduates and/or individuals working in libraries that participated in previous rounds of the Library Development Program (1-5) in towns with up to 50,000 residents; library managers and other library staff who have daily contact with library users.
The Academy invites people who are ready to actively participate in the development process and who want to use the knowledge and skills they have acquired for the benefit of the library and the community they work for.
The PRB Academy offer includes:
- a Gallup® test and an individual discussion of the results with a certified coach,
- four three-day residential meetings, one online meeting,
- funds for the implementation task in the amount of PLN 3,000, along with the support of a mentor,
- individual coaching and mentoring,
- participation in a selected specialist course,
- access to tools enabling effective participation in the Academy,
- educational materials.
The recruitment process consists of two stages: the first is to fill out the form and submit it by February 16. Those who are selected to the second stage of recruitment will participate in online interviews between February 17 and 27. The results of the recruitment process will be announced by March 6.
The Academy is part of the Library Development Program, an undertaking of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation, implemented by the Information Society Development Foundation. The Library Development Program supports thousands of public libraries throughout Poland in fulfilling their role as local centers of social activity. Between 2009 and 2015, it was implemented in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
