PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND
ANDRZEJ DUDA
Mr. Ambassador
Jerzy Koźmiński
President of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation
Dear Mr. Ambassador,
I am offering, through you, the Polish-American Freedom Foundation my best wishes and sincere congratulations on its 20th anniversary. I wish to express my highest appreciation for the Foundation’s achievements and convey my gratitude to all individuals and institutions who co-created and partnered with the Foundation throughout its existence.
Poles and Americans share a community of values, with freedom at its helm.
It forms the basis for the close partnership relations of transatlantic cooperation and friendship between our countries. The development and tightening of mutual ties are an unchanging objective pursued by Polish authorities irrespective of political developments and differences. I am pleased to note that today we are enjoying perfect relations that yield projects integral to the security of our country, region, continent, and the whole world.
For decades Poland’s main political players have agreed on the need to build good relations with countries that had been under Soviet influence, and support their civil society and democracy. Poles and Central and Eastern European nations, reaching as far as South Caucasus, are united by the concept of freedom and working together for the common good and shared prosperity. We believe it is our duty to share Poland’s experience in political and economic transformations with our Eastern partners. We wish to support integration aspirations within the Three Seas Initiative and other regional cooperation arrangements.
In both the transatlantic and the Eastern European dimensions, through the Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program for young leaders, the “Act Locally”, “Region in Transition (RITA)” and other programs, the Polish-American Freedom Foundation contributes to developing contacts, dialog and cooperation, as well as strengthening the ties that bind our nations – from political elites, through professional groups and economic relations, to non-governmental organizations and local communities. For that I wish to express heartfelt thanks today. I trust that these efforts will continue to positively influence international relations in our part of the world.
Congratulations on your jubilee once again. With all my heart I wish you fulfillment with your achievements and continued success. Let the Foundation’s work help promote the shared Polish-American concept of freedom throughout Central and Eastern European nations.
Yours sincerely,
Andrzej Duda
