On July 18, the 6th round of the “PAFF Local Partnerships” Program Recommendation Committee selected projects submitted by seven Initiative Groups that will establish partnerships operating at the area of eight communes considered to be most active in implementation of the PAFF programs. The Partnerships will receive up to PLN 75,000 for carrying out their partner projects.
The planned activities cover public space development, promotion of regional products and brands, and getting the residents involved in the issues connected with cultural heritage of the region, tourism development or building intergenerational ties, among other things.
Participation in the “PAFF Local Partnerships” Program is a form of awarding the Foundation program beneficiaries that come from communes or municipalities of less than 50,000 residents and over last four years have carried out projects under at least three of the following PAFF programs: “Act Locally”, “Equal Opportunities”, “English Teaching”, Library Development Program, “PAFF Leaders”, “Seniors in Action”, “Learning Schools (LES)” or “Region in Transition (RITA)”. The program is also aimed at initiating cooperation and establishing project partnerships. The participants set up an Initiative Group which takes part in tutoring sessions on community animation, prepares a local community needs diagnosis, and looks for potential partners such as local governments, businesses, local media, NGOs, and other institutions that could participate in carrying out the project.
The following partner projects have been approved in the 6th round:
- On a Municipal Trail with a Hopper; the Initiative Group: Cieszyn Creative Youth Association (“Act Locally”), Grażyna Krehut (“PAFF Leaders”), Association of Zamarski Friends, Hażle commune, Śląskie Province;
- Future, People, Animation, Life, Atmosphere (Polish abbr. PLAŻA – BEACH), the Initiative Group: Library – Lubiewo Commune Culture and Promotion Center (“Equal Opportunities”), Monika Januszewska (“PAFF Leaders”), Elementary School in Lubniewo (“Learning Schools”), Lubniewo commune local government, Pomorskie Province;
- The Train to Tradition, the Initiative Group: the Municipal Public Library in Chrzanów, No 6 Elementary School in Chrzanów (“Learning Schools”), Third Age University Association in Chrzanów (“Seniors in Action”), Chrzanów municipality local government, Małopolskie Province;
- Culture Square, the Initiative Group: Fundus Glacensis Association (“Equal Opportunities”), the Municipal Public Library (Library Development Program), Iwona Mikołajek (ICT Mobile Advisor), Kudowa-Zdrój municipality local government, Dolnośląskie Province;
- A-R-M Square – We Act-Rest-Motivate, the Initiative Group: Arkady Fiedler Krotoszyn Public Library in Krotoszyn (Library Development Program), John Paul II No. 3 Secondary Schools Complex (“Learning Schools”), TAU Association (“Seniors in Action”), Krotoszyn municipality local government, Wielkopolskie Province;
- Beyond the Fences – a Renovation and a Chance for Rzeczniów!, the Initiative Group: Create, Educate, Develop Association (“Seniors in Action”), Municipal and District Public Library in Rzeczniów (Library Development Program and “Equal Opportunities”), Justyna Niedziela-Gawlik (“PAFF Leaders”), Rzeczniów commune local government, Mazowieckie Province;
- Warmia Stop, the Initiative Group: Warmia Corner Local Action Group (“Act Locally”, “RITA”), Municipal Public Library in Dywity (Library Development Program), M. Z. Malewska Elementary School in Dywity (“English Teaching”), Dywity and Dobre Miasto municipal local governments, Warmińsko-Mazurskie Province;
The Commission awarded also the start-up grants of PLN 20,000 each to the following three Initiative Groups for completing the idea of common good, implementation of some tasks, and Common Good Lab Animator support:
- It’s Good to Have a Neighbor – Oleśno and Kluczbork Inspirations, the Initiative Group: Third Age University Association in Oleśno (“Seniors in Action”), Town Culture Center (“Equal Opportunities”) Public elementary School in Wojciechów (“Learning Schools”), Stobrawa Valley Local Action Group (“Act Locally”), Olesno and Kluczbork municipal local governments, Opolskie Province;
- We Are Getting Rooted, the Initiative Group: Lady Sue Ryder Non-Public Elementary School in Wola Batorska (“English Teaching”), St. Kinga Commune Preschool in Podłęże (“Learning Schools”), School of Dialogue Foundation (“RITA”), Niepołomice municipal local government, Małopolskie Province;
- True or fake news…, the Initiative Group: Let’s Act Together Bukowiec Village Association (“Equal Opportunities”), Gabriela Góra (“PAFF Leaders”), Międzyrzec Culture Center (Library Development Program), Elementary School in Bukowiec (“Learning Schools”), the Voluntary Fire Brigade in Bukowiec (“Equal Opportunities”), Międzyrzec municipal local government, Lubuskie Province.
Implementation of the projects shall start in September 2018 and last by October 2019.
