Participation in the “PAFF Local Partnerships” Program is a form of an award granted to local communities that are outstandingly active in implementation of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation’s programs. It also serves initiating the cooperation of participants within the partnerships established to carry out joint projects.
The core of a partnership is the Initiative Group which consists of beneficiaries of various Foundation’s initiatives and is subsequently joined by local government authorities, companies, local media, NGOs and institutions. During former three rounds the Act Locally Centers acted as the partnership leaders. In the present, 4th round the role of the leader can be also played by participants in one of the following programs: “English Teaching”, “Equal Opportunities”, “Learning School”, “PAFF Leaders”, “Library Development Program” and “Region in Transition – RITA”.
On July 29, the Recommendation Commission of the 4th round of the “PAFF Local Partnerships” selected projects submitted by eight Initiative Groups which will establish partnerships operating in 24 communes recognized as the most active in implementation of the Foundation’s programs. For implementation of their projects they will obtain grants of up to PLN 90,000 each. Activities planned by them relate to, among others, social space development, development of tourism, creation of a regional product and preservation of the regional culture.
