The 25th anniversary of the “Act Locally” and the summing-up of the 9th round of the “PAFF Local Partnerships” program were accompanied by a two-day training session, with Professor Jerzy Hausner as a special guest.
The former Deputy Prime Minister, currently Chairman of the Program Council of the Open Eyes Economy Summit and the Council of the Foundation for Public Economy and Administration, emphasized in his speech on How To Generate And Unleash Social Energy? the importance of community, co-responsibility, and cooperation for the development of social capital. “The prefix ‘co’ is essential for social energy to be generated,” said Prof. Jerzy Hausner.
The training participants also learned about opportunities for obtaining new funds for development of local communities. The invited guests talked about the possibility of obtaining support for non-governmental organizations.
Speakers included Katarzyna Zakroczymska, program manager at the PKO Bank Polski Foundation; Zofia Komorowska, vice president of the Shipyard Foundation; Rafał Sakowski, manager of Safety and Security Area at the Orlen Foundation; and Marzena Atkielska, president of the Santander Bank Polska SA Foundation.
The “PAFF Leaders” program was presented by Agnieszka Szelągowska, vice president of the Zbigniew Pełczyński School for Leaders Foundation, while Tomasz Schimanek, an expert at the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland (ARFP), presented the possibilities for financing the organization’s activities by local governments.
The training program also included parallel thematic blocks.
The workshop Threat-Resilient Organizations: How To Effectively Plan Activities For Times of Crisis was moderated by representatives of Ashoka Poland. Maciej Sopyło, a digital and media education coach, addressed the topic of critical thinking as a response to ubiquitous disinformation and the dynamic development of artificial intelligence. Representatives of the Gotowi.org foundation spoke about civil protection in emergency situations and preparing local communities for crises. The workshops also focused on supporting the mental resilience of children and young people (presentation by the School with Class Foundation) and ecology – involving local communities in the protection of water resources (WWF Poland).
A debate with the winners of the awards for the most sustainable PAFF Local Partnerships on the effective recipe for sustainable cooperation was moderated by Paweł Łukasiak, President of ARFP.
Training sessions for representatives of Act Locally Centers and the “PAFF Local Partnerships” program are a regular event organized by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland.
