For the 10th time we have started the procedure of accepting applications to the competition for Polish-American Freedom Foundation Sector 3.0 Award. Under that competition NGOs using new technologies to implement social innovations can apply for PLN 40,000. Applications can be submitted by April 1, 2022.
“The mission of Polish-American Freedom Foundation Sector 3.0 Award is to recognize organizations that skillfully and effectively apply opportunities offered by new technologies in their everyday work. Effective NGO are characterized not only by proper reaction to social problems but also by appropriate choice of tools used to reach the broadest spectrum of recipients of help offered by them,” Radosław Jasiński, Polish-American Freedom Foundation Program Director says.
The winning organization will receive the award of PLN 40,000 and support in promotion of its activities in Sector 3.0 program communication channels.
Formal Requirements
The award is granted to organizations which use ICT tools to achieve socially useful goals. Assessing the applications, the Competition Committee will be guided by the following criteria:
- Scale and effects of activities carried out using new ICT by NGOs;
- Experience and achievements in creating, developing, adapting or exploring ICT solutions in activities of NGOs;
- Practical benefits of hitherto activities of NGOs in the area of new technologies;
- Innovative and practical use of the Internet tools, applications, dedicated programs and computer systems.
How to apply?
Candidates may submit their applications via the form. The application deadline is on April 1,2022. The winner will be announced on May 18, during the online Sector 3.0 Festival.
The Competition Committee
The Competition Committee will choose the organizations which in its opinion best use the technologies and present them as a positive example on Polish NGO market. The Competition Committee will select the winner or winners who will get the grant or its part for their statutory activities.
This year the Competition Committee is composed of: Urszula Krasnodębska-Maciuła (Klon/Jawor Association), Michał Jaworski (Microsoft), Konrad Ciesiołkiewicz (Orange Foundation), Jacek Królikowski (Information Society Development Foundation), Radosław Jasiński representing Polish-American Freedom Foundation and acting as the chairman of the Committee.

The award granted in last-year’s round of the competition went to Demagog Association for practical use of ICT to fact checking and for their extensive educational activity and sharing know-how with various groups of users.
