Even PLN 12,000 for implementation of a five-month-long project that develops social and emotional competence of young people living in small towns and villages. Applications are accepted by February 26, 2024.
The objective of the competition is to support projects that will develop social and emotional competence of young people living in small towns and villages. In “Equal Opportunities – Small Grants” competition you can receive even PLN 12,000 for implementation of a five-month-long project run in your village or town.
For young people, it is an interesting challenge and an opportunity to cooperate with others. Participants of our projects define the common goal which they want to achieve. They learn how to plan and how to work in a team, get acquainted with local history, culture, or traditions. They make new friends, act for the good of local community. Develop their passions and interests and learn about themselves in quite new situations.
Who can apply for the grant?
Participants of our projects are young people, 13-19 years old, from villages and small towns of up to 20,000 residents. The project group shall comprise at least 10 people, and we recommend the number of members from 12 to 15.
We award grants under the “Equal Opportunities” program to the following entities operating in villages and small towns of up to 20,000 residents:
- NGOs registered as associations or foundations in the National Court Register or evidence registers run by the county heads (starosta);
- County, municipal or communal culture centers;
- County, municipal or communal public libraries;
- Farmer’s Wife Clubs registered at the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, or the National Court Register, or evidence registers run by the county heads (starosta);
- Volunteer Fire Brigades.
The projects must meet the following criteria:
- Involve young people already at the stage of planning so that they are active authors, participants and direct implementers of the projects;
- Give young people space for acting in the area of their passions and interests;
- Assign an important role for each project participant;
- Make the consistent offer of cyclical actions performed by young people themselves and with participation of at least 10 members of the group;
- Include partners to young people’s activities (cooperation at the stage of project implementation with various NGOs, self-government institutions, parents, local business, schools);
- The training component shouldn’t dominate the project activities directly performed by the young people. It’s a good practice for the training workshops to be only the introduction to the actions carried out by the young people on their own and to be held at the beginning of the project implementation;
- If possible, the enrollment to the project group shall be carried out in such a way that it ensures gender, age, place of residence, school classes variety. It is recommended that no more than half of the project group members are from the same school class.
