It is a training aimed at improving competence of those who work with children and young people. We invite 60 people from all over Poland who will gain knowledge and tools to enhance young people’s mental resilience. Deadline for applications is on January 7, 2025.
The “Fostering Resilience in Children and Youth” is a new program of Polish-American Freedom Foundation aimed at improving children’s and young people’s mental resilience. The objective of the program is to improve skills of teachers and educators working with the youngest children who more and more often have to face depressed mood, low motivation, loneliness, and low self-esteem in their students. The program is implemented in cooperation with the School with Class Foundation and the Education for Democracy Foundation.
It offers a comprehensive approach to building children’s and young people’s mental resilience and is addressed to teachers who implement recommended activities at schools, and to people, organizations, or institutions carrying out non-formal education such as NGOs, libraries, or culture centers.
Who can apply?
Invitation to the training is addressed to people permanently cooperating with NGOs or local institutions such as foundations, associations, libraries or culture centers involved in non-formal education. Accepted are applications submitted by organizations operating in villages and towns of up to 50,000 residents that support groups especially exposed to mental crises and operate in the areas with limited access to educational resources.
The offer
Training sessions which comprise online introductory meeting (January 13, 2025), four-day-long on-site session (you may choose either January 23–26 or February 6–9, 2025) and webinars allowing to deepen knowledge and get answers to questions asked by the participants.
Complementary offer – participation in the grant competition, networking meetings, workshops on social campaigns, study tours and a concluding conference.
How to enroll?
Accepted are only applications in form of the online application form available on the Website of the program. Deadline for applications is at 14:00 hrs. on January 7, 2025. Each organization can submit one person who will cooperate with the defined group of children or young people.
Advantages
Participation in the program allows gaining knowledge and practical skills that will make you be able to act more effectively for the benefit of the youngest. The participants will get prepared to implementing new educational initiatives, will meet experts and practitioners from all over Poland. After completing the course by the participants, organizations they work for will be eligible to apply for a grant offered in our grant competition.
