The meeting summing up the 1st round of the “NGO Managers” (“PROMENGO”) Program implemented by the Academy of Civic Organizations Foundation was held at the PAFF’s Representative Office on May 24, 2014. The special guest at the event was Dr. Ryszard Stocki, who gave a lecture on organization management.
Carried out since June 2013, the “NGO Managers” (“PROMENGO”) Program is addressed to third sector managers. It is the first initiative on the NGO market that covers various forms of education. The Program has been designed in an innovative formula of blended-learning, that is integrated learning comprising stationary training sessions, Internet courses and tasks to be implemented by the participants in their organizations. Additionally, professional tutors and experts in the third sector have been secured to meet the participants’ needs. The Program has aroused a lot of interest from the very beginning. During less than a three-week-long enrolment period more than 140 people submitted their applications. Finally some 50 participants, representing both large, national non-governmental organizations and smaller associations and foundations from all over Poland, just beginning their activities, qualified to the Program.
During one training year a group of managers was involved in improving their skills in nine thematic areas: basis of law in non-governmental organizations’ practice, evaluation, fundraising, marketing, strategic planning in NGOs, interpersonal skills, finance management, human resources management and team management. In total, the Program comprised 144 hours of stationary training and some 180 hours of individual activities such as e-learning using Kursodrom.pl site, consultations with experts/tutors and preparation of the assigned projects.
The special guest at the event was Dr. Ryszard Stocki, who gave a lecture on organization management. The lecture was followed by a discussion.
The next part of the meeting was devoted to summing up the 1st round of the “PROMENGO”. All Program graduates received diplomas and the best ones also extra prizes, including grants for their organizations.
Educational achievements and experiences were also summed up. During the chats in informal groups the participants shared what they found most inspiring and how they used it in their organizations.
Soon we will start the enrollment for the next round of the “PROMENGO” Program. We invite you to take part in it.
