Are you an English teacher or a local leader? Do you have an idea of a language project you would like to carry out in your community? Do you want to participate in interesting training sessions? That means the English Teaching Activities is just for you!
We would like to invite you to prepare and submit the letter of intent to participate in a two-year training and project path of our program. We are waiting for your on-line application till January 31, 2026.
ETAs combines participation in methodological and project training sessions, and a project implementation. It is addressed to English teachers working at public kindergartens, elementary schools, or high schools at villages, and local leaders applying individually or together with a teacher.
A project in the meaning of “English Teaching” program means implementation of an interesting project for extra-curricular English classes conducted in a form that is attractive to participants, and is not related to textbooks, workbooks or marking. The project shall make a coherent, well-designed whole, with a keynote, focused on a well-defined, socially important issue.
The English Teaching program stands out because, in addition to its main goal of promoting English language learning, it stimulates and develops various social initiatives. Their effects often go beyond the original goal, which is reflected in the overall activation of local communities. We hope that the activities carried out as part of English Teaching Activities will result in sharing experiences, increased activity, and the establishment of project cooperation both within local communities and between ETA participants,” says Agnieszka Mazur, Program Director at Polish-American Freedom Foundation.
The two-year ETA offer includes:
- Two methodical training sessions which are compulsory for English teachers and local leaders with competencies to teach English;
- Two project training sessions which are compulsory for English teachers and optional for local leaders (if needed);
- A possibility to obtain a grant and implement the project for children and/or young people by a kindergarten, school or an NGO;
- Support in project designing and implementation given by English Teaching Ambassadors;
- The opportunity to participate in the English Teaching Market conference;
Support in preparing and implementing the project offered by the Ambassadors of the “English Teaching” program.
“The training involves working on the preparation of a project with the support of a trainer – an interesting idea for extracurricular English classes, conducted in a form that is attractive to participants, focusing on a specific, socially important issue,” explains Justyna Kowalczyk from the NIDA Development Foundation in Nidzica, coordinator of the “English Teaching” program.
Approximately 55 projects are planned to receive funding. The total pool of funds for this purpose is PLN 715,000.
