Do you know people who act selflessly for the good of others, are active in organizing neighborly help, are involved in social work, support their local communities or environmental protection? Submit their candidatures to the eighth round of the competition for the “Civic Leader of the Year” title organized by “Newsweek Polska”. The deadline for submitting candidates is on September 30, 2016.

On September 14-16, 2016, the participants of the current edition of the Polish-American Internship Initiative (PAII) visited Washington at the invitation of the Trade and Investment Promotion Section (WPHI) of Polish Embassy in the USA. The interns met with the representatives of Polish diplomatic posts, Administration of the USA, business and the World Bank.

New Partnerships’ projects have just been launched

On September 13, eight new “PAFF Local Partnerships” received checks and signed contracts for the implementation of year-long projects. The ceremony took place at the Polish-American Freedom Foundation’s Representative Office. ‘Apple trail’ in Warka, ‘Youth Forest Guard’ at Niemce, or traditional Szadkowski bread baking are only a few examples of activities planned by partnerships established under the 5th edition of the program.

On September 5, 2016 r. the PAFF and UW School of Education hosted Dean of the School of Education of Indiana University Professor Terrence C. Mason. The meeting was a valuable opportunity to talk about cooperation and experience sharing by both institutions as well as University of Warsaw, represented at the meeting by Prof. Jolanta Choińska-Mika, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching.

From August 23 to 25, 2016, the workshops for female mentors of the “Klasna shkola” program, a counterpart of the “School with Class” initiative, were held in Lvov. The most active participants of the previous edition of program will be mentors for participants of the forthcoming one. The meeting objective was to prepare the mentors to their role.
