Reacting to Russian invasion of Ukraine the Kirkland Program has reformulated its budget so that almost PLN 100,000 could be earmarked for direct supporting actions aimed at assistance and protection of civil people in Ukraine.

At the initiative of scholarship holders who are staying in Poland at the moment first aid kits, dressing materials, underwear and thermal blankets were bought and sent to Ukraine. Additionally, under so-called humanitarian grants the program alumni in Ukraine received financial or material support to be used for protection of civil people.

Thanks to the support offered by the program and additional fundraising and collection actions as well as Kirklanders’ engagement, 3 ambulances have been bought and equipped with medicines and pharmaceuticals. Apart from that, fire extinguishers, loudspeakers, flashlights, first aid kits, binoculars, medicines and pharmaceuticals, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, thermal underwear, tourist gas stoves and trekking shoes have been bought.

The Leaders of Change Foundation’s team runs the collections and coordinates deliveries of ordered goods.

Ukrainian scholarship holders and alumni who are in Poland receive also direct assistance. As far as possible and needed, the Leaders of Change Foundation co-finances accommodation for them and their families if they left Ukraine and helps them organize their stay in Poland. It also offers them psychological support in form of individual consultations as well as group meetings with a psychologist held for all this-year’s scholarship holders. 

To help Ukraine as much as possible, the Leaders of Change Foundation uses funds from its own budget and also runs collection of goods and raises funds on the following dedicated account:
