He was the author of over 40 scientific publications, a Doctor of Physical Sciences from the AGH University of Science and Technology, and recipient of an honorary doctorate from National Louis University in Chicago.

As a visionary and leader, he passionately engaged in the development of modern education in Poland for several decades, actively shaped Polish higher education, and supported the growth of the academic community.

For his outstanding achievements in the fields of education, science, and civic activism, he was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta; among numerous other honors, he also received the Cross of Freedom and Solidarity.

From the very beginning of Polish-American Freedom Foundation, Professor Krzysztof Pawłowski served on its Board of Directors. He was actively involved in fulfilling the Foundation’s mission to strengthen civil society in Poland, develop education, and promote equal educational opportunities, as well as to share Poland’s experience in transformation with other countries.

His vast knowledge and wide-ranging achievements, wisdom, and deep concern for the common good made an invaluable contribution to the Foundation’s activities. Among these, he left a lasting mark on a special undertaking: the establishment and development of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and University of Warsaw School of Education.

For many years, he enjoyed immense authority – in academic circles, in public life, and in his hometown of Nowy Sącz, of which he was an Honorary Citizen. We will remember him as our Friend, a man of great heart, full of energy, passion, and faith in young people, for whom he created a space for growth and responsible action.
