The second round of the FAOO Management School – a free course for leaders of small nongovernmental organizations – is kicking off. Applications are being accepted through October 11.
The FAOO School of Management is a free course aimed at leaders of organizations with at least two years of managerial experience who hold top executive positions and/or serve on the board of small nongovernmental organizations with an annual budget not exceeding PLN 100,000.
The course curriculum was designed with the specific needs of small associations and foundations in mind and focuses on five key areas:
- My organization’s strategy,
- People management in a small organization,
- Fundraising basics,
- Financial management basics,
- ABC of law for non-governmental organizations.
Each topic will be the subject of one of the in-person training sessions, which will take place from October 2026 to May 2027. The in-person training will be supplemented by e-learning courses with tests and practical coursework projects, allowing participants to apply the knowledge they have gained to improve the management of their own organizations. The projects will involve assessing the current situation and preparing recommendations and guidelines regarding necessary changes.
Through your commitment and active participation in all components offered as part of the School of Management you will:
- organize the most important areas of your organization’s management—from strategy to finance and legal matters,
- learn practical tools that you can use in your day-to-day work,
- work on real challenges facing your organization, applying the knowledge gained during the classes,
- develop competencies in people management, including delegating tasks and authority and providing feedback,
- learn about various funding options and ways to diversify revenue streams,
- gain a better understanding of your organization’s finances and the board’s role in financial management,
- organize your knowledge of the legal aspects of NGO operations,
- receive feedback from experienced trainers on the projects you prepare,
- have the opportunity to take the Extended DISC assessment and receive an individual online consultation of up to 1.5 hours after fulfilling the School’s completion requirements.
“The Management School, run by the Academy of Civil Society Organizations Foundation, is part of a comprehensive educational program for NGO managers that has been in place since 2012, as part of ‘Support for NGOs’ program run by Polish-American Freedom Foundation. Participation in this intensive development program helps leaders of small organizations to tangibly raise management standards and implement changes within their organizations,” says Radosław Jasiński, PAFF Program Director, encouraging participation.
Applications will be accepted until October 11, 2026. Selection results will be announced by October 14, 2026.
